He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. McCartney and Janie R. McCartney. He is survived by: his wife Gail McCartney; his children, Gary McCartney (Kellye) and Susan Jobe (Greg); his grandchildren, Luke DeVorak, Natalie Berry (Jackson), Brock DeVorak and Makenzie McCartney; his great grandchildren, Grae Berry and Georgia Kate Berry; and his siblings, John McCartney (Naomi), James McCartney and Mary Marsh (Ronnie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Woodland Heights Baptist Church "Finish the Task" Fund, honoring Joe's lifelong faith and commitment to sharing the Gospel.
