He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leroy and Martha Starkey (Meriweather); and his stepfather Thomas Hulen Starkey. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Meriweather; his sons, James Meriweather (Tracy), John Meriweather (Holly) and Jeff Meriweather (Dena); and his siblings, Patricia Smith, Maryjane Hawley (Michael) and David Starkey (Sherry). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many extended family.
