“I met Ms. Shirley at the Assisted Living place she and my mother shared. They also shared the same table for their meals. I grew to love Ms. Shirley as did my siblings. She was a special lady and we loved sharing our "teacher" stories even though we never taught together. The day before she went to the hospital I saw her at the water dispenser trying to fill her tumbler with water. Although she was very independent and was trying to do it herself she seemed pleased that I "cared and wanted to help". I will miss her so much on this side of HEAVEN but will see her again. “Hi guys. I hope ya'll know how very much we loved Shirley. Mom loved her like a sister, and that love was mutual between them. She was a wonderful person with a great personality. When life was dealing mom lemons, Shirley always made her laugh. Together they made the sweetest lemonade out of the sourest lemons. She was quite an amazing lady, and will be missed greatly by many people. But on a brighter note, the three musketeers (Gladys, Shirley and Wanda) are riding together again. Don't you know they're catching up and having a blast. Love you all bunches. We'll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.”
