He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sams and Mary Sams; his wife Doris Sams; his son Kerry Daniel Sams; and his siblings, Eldon Sams, William E. Sams Jr., Arlon Sams, Marvin Sams, Carolyn Beene Gray, Rosalie Ryan, Anavurl Sams Karber and Luevern Sams Glover.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Wayne Sams (Lynette) of Conway, AR and Carol Jean Haile (Tim) of Bowling Green, KY; and his grandchildren, Rachel Marie Sochor (Andy) of Bowling Green, KY, Tyler Daniel Sams (Audrey) of San Antonio, TX, Lucas Lane Haile (Daphne) of Science Hill, KY and Lindsey Elizabeth Churchill (Caleb) of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by 15 great grand children.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Roller-McNutt Chapel.
