With sadness, we share the passing of Gene Austin Melton of Cord, Arkansas. Gene, born on September 15, 1939, passed away on September 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Melton (Buster) and Mary Melton; his brother Bill Melton; and his daughters-in-law, Lenette Melton and Jennifer Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Melton; his sons, Ronnie Melton and Patrick Melton (Pam); his grandchildren, Justin Melton (Whitney), Cody Melton (Wendy), Cole Melton (Lizzy), Jeb Melton and Kantin Melton; his great grandchildren, Asher Melton, Emery Melton and Mack Melton; and his sisters, Nedra Forrester and Nina Porter. He is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church (50 Upper Lockhart Rd, Cord, AR 72524). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
