He was predeceased by : his parents, John and Anna; his stepmother Anna Jane Austin; his brother Jim Austin; his half-brother Larry Austin; and his stepgrandchild Shannon Brandon.

He is survived by : his daughter Kelly Joplin of Grandin, MO.; his grandchildren, Shelby Cox and Scott Joplin; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Derek Joplin, Brianna Grisham, Destiny Cox and Cheyenne Wilson; and his great grandchild Zuriyah Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
