He was predeceased by : his parents, George Tyson and Blanche Alexander Tyson; his sons, Matthew Lee Tyson and Mark Alexander Tyson; and his siblings, Robert Allen Tyson and Gloria Tyson Malpass.

He is survived by : his wife Betty Jeannette Blankenship Tyson of Crossett; his siblings, Gearl Paige (Steve) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Johnnie "Jobie" Johnston (Phillip) of Clinton, AR, Kenneth Tyson (Karen) of Jonesboro, AR and Greg Tyson of Banks, AR; his grandsons, Mark Allen Tyson and Brady Michael Tyson; and his great grandchildren, Annabell Hays of Crossett and Rhyatt Watt of Crossett.
