He was predeceased by: his wife Ola Hudson Land; his daughter Kathryn "Kathy" Land Brown; and his parents, Sam Land and Elise Morris Land. He is survived by: his children, Susie Haseloff (Robert) of Brandon, Mississippi, James Land, Jr. (Casey) of Crossett and Gregory Winn (Nicole) of Strong; his brother Sammy Land, Jr. (Helen) of Montrose; his grandchildren, Zack Land, Victoria Land, Jonathan Winn, Dillan Brown, Charles Winn and Vance High; and his great grandchildren, Grant Oliver Winn and Olivia Mae Craig.
