It is with sadness that the passing of Joe Nelson of Crossett, Arkansas is shared. Joe, born on January 18, 1938 in Strong, Arkansas, passed away on July 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Betsy Stinson Nelson; his parents, Theron Nelson and Mary Ophelia Wooley Nelson; and his sister Shirley Bradham. He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Nelson and Denise Thornton (Danny Davis) of Plano, TX; his grandson Michael Kenneth Nelson (Jeanie) of Monroe, LA; his sister Mary Jane Ainsworth of Jewett, TX; his grandchildren, Corey Thornton and Amanda Neck; his great grandchildren, Jaden, Gage, Beckham and Brielle Neck; and his caregiver Lori Davis.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
