He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Pennington and Bernice Pennington. He is survived by: his wife Cordelia "Corky" Spears Pennington; his children, Deedee Manzoor (Amir) of El Paso, TX and Craig Pennington (Susan) of Crossett; his adoptive son Terry Barnett of Crossett; his siblings, Carol Baugnet of Crossett and Danny Ray Pennington of Gilbertsville, KY; his sister-in-law Gearldine Ashley of Glenwood, AR; his grandchildren, Riley, Tori, Avery and Aminn; and his great grandchild Indie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
