He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Delamar Childers; his parents, Tom Childers and Dorothy Clark Childers; and his sisters, Rita Ozell Jones and Mary Nell Swan.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard "Hog" Childers (Priscilla) of Crossett, Tab Childers (Catherine) of Crossett and Brian Childers (Margo) of Hazel Green, AL; his friend Jimmy Boykin; and his pet Aury. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Medders Funeral Home of Crossett (1564 State Hwy 52 W, Crossett, AR 71635). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the South Main Baptist Church (2801 S Main St, Crossett, AR 71635). A burial was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at the Crossroads Cemetery.
