He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Loyd Owen and Georgia Housley Owen; and his brothers, Ira Lee Owen, O'Neil Earl Owen, Gail Dean Owen, James Etzel "Jim" Owen, Charles Stanley "Chuck" Owen and Arlis Ray Owen.

He is survived by: his wife Ophelia "Pat" Owen; his son Michael Wayne Owen (Cindy); his sisters, Donna Turner (Gary), Betty Cantrell and Pat Owen; his grandchildren, Courtney Rae Owen-Freeman (Joey), Casey Roger Michael Owen (Cheryl) and Chance George Wayne Owen; his great grandchildren, Georgia Owen-Spaght, Isabella Freeman, Glenna Freeman, Deserae Milam (Jason) and Hailey Kennedy; and his great great grandchildren, Briar, Kingston Colburn and Emerie Milam. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
