He was predeceased by: his parent Pat Cooper; his wife Corkie; his father Leon Bennett; his children, James Doyle Hinson and Shawnee Clay (Ronnie); and his brothers, Ray (Larry Cooper) and Lanny Lacy.
He is survived by: his daughter Gayle Morton (Harry); his son-in-law Harry; his sister Brenda Chambliss (Richard); his grandchildren, Cody Clay (Kari) of Lubbock and Tye Clay (Linde) of Lubbock; his great grandchildren, Trevor of Lubbock, Caitlyn of Lubbock, Chloe of Lubbock and Zoe Clay of Lubbock; and his siblings-in-law, Jimmy Jack Hext of Lubbock, Jerry Powell of Odessa and Sherry Cooper of Ballinger. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
