He is survived by: his children, Tim, Tonya Essex and Elizabeth Essex; his grandchildren, Alister and Rachel Essex; his brothers, Stewart Essex (Jeannette) and Cooper Essex (Connie); and his nieces, Kimberly Lock, Ashley Schrunk and Laura Essex.
