It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Wheatley Merritt Sr. of DeWitt, Arkansas, who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde Merritt and Eunice Wheatley Merritt; his former wife Martha Ragan Merritt; his brother Jimmy; and his sister-in-law Sarah Merritt.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Carlock Merritt; his children, Denese Merritt Canedo, Michael Wheatley Merritt, Jr. and Mike; and his grandchildren, Michael "Tre" Wheatley Merritt III, Tristan, Ragan Merritt, Ella Holt and William Merritt.
