She was predeceased by: her parents, Winnie Lybrand and Rebecca Lybrand; her husband Leland Simpson; her son C. W. Simpson (Carl Wayne); and her sisters, Nevlyn Laverne Lybrand, Reda Lybrand and Dot Lybrand Buffalo (Dorothy).
She is survived by: her children, Terry Simpson (Kay) of Marianna, Dianne Dalton of Greers Ferry and Rose Ray (Dennis) of Jacksonville; her daughter-in-law Julie Ferguson Simpson; her sister Vida Gordon (Glen) of Hagler; and her grandchildren, Tonya Shook (Greg) of Almyra, LaDuska Sells (Terry) of Almyra, Jennifer Whitworth (Brian) of Guanacaste, Leslie Dalton of Benton, Jourdan Williams (Clayton) of North Little Rock, Zachary Ray (Kelli) of Hot Springs, Alex Ray (Lindsey) of Little Rock, Will Ray (Erin) of El Paso and Lauren Krebs (Chad) of Alexander. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Essex Funeral Home (1405 S Grandview Dr, DeWitt, AR 72042). A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bayou Meto Cemetery (1087 AR-276, Stuttgart, AR 72160).
