He was predeceased by : his parents, David Carlson Sr. and Elsa Cruz Carlson; his wife Sandy; and his brother Johnny. He is survived by : his daughters, Debbie Mesa (Tony Mesa) and Carie Golden (Gwynne Golden); his grandchildren, Rebecca Jaynes of Batesville, Taylor Prince, Elizabeth Prince of Batesville, Erin Golden of Drasco, Ryan Mesa, Lucy Mesa of Batesville, Sydney Oliva and Bill Oliva of Batesville; his great grandchildren, Jordis, Atlannis, Sylis, Jaxson, Ryder, Maxxis, Will, Adrian and Dax; his siblings, Conrad Carlson and Janine Nyland (Gerald); his nephews, Aaron (Ann Marie), John (Lisa) and Casey (Kiley); and his niece Kathrine Elizabeth.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Drasco General Baptist Church (6797 Heber Springs Rd N, Drasco, AR 72530). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
