He was predeceased by : his parents, Lena Harris and Luddie Dobbs; and his children, Michael Dobbs, Terrance Dobbs, Corey Dobbs and Shannon Dobbs.

He is survived by : his children, Jeffery Dobbs, Andre Dobbs, Sherry Thomas (Jeremy), Shantail Dobbs and Sharon Dobbs; his siblings, Samuel Dobbs, Cornellius Dobbs, Mitchell Harris (Jackie), Vennis Harris and Geneva Robinson; and his close friend Gloria Jones. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
