He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Ross and Lucille Pontious Ross; his wife Betty Arnold; his sister-in-law Patricia; his granddaughter Leann Carl; and his great great grandchild Phoenix Lucy Richey.

He is survived by: his children, Shirley Knight (Crawford), Janice Savage (Felton) and Terry Ross (Alice); his granddaughters, Laneisa Reep (Kevin), Terrah Ross (Kevin Major) and Courtney Ross; his great grandchildren, Justin Reep (Josie), Allie Richey (Caleb), Reece Reep and Joey Carl; and his great great grandchildren, Brooks, Braxton, Natalie Reep and Bjorn Richey.
