He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Mae and Harold David Pesnell; his brother David Pesnell; his daughter Angela Marie Gathright; his grandsons, Braydon Ray Ponder and Tyler Lee Pesnell; and his grandparents, Inez and Pat Hardy Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Vickey Elaine Pesnell; his sons, David Lyn Gathright and Joshua Ray Pesnell; his sister Patricia Ann Arnold; and his close friend Lonnie Patrick. He is also survived by sIx grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
