He was predeceased by: his parent Sammy Meeks; his children, James Glover, Angela Marbray and Janet Marbray-Jones; his siblings, Pearl Reed, Ester Meeks, Ruth Candley-McElroy, LeeRoy Meeks, Tommy Candley, Micheal Candley, Sr. and James Candley; his grandparents, Lucille Wilson, Alber Wilson, Laura Meeks and Cliff Meeks; and his grandchildren, Ashley Bell and DeVontre Marbrary.

He is survived by: his mother Pearlie Wilson Candley; his wife Carolyn Donald-Meeks; his sons, Makwo Williams, Inshiqaq Qiyama (Pedro) and Delvis Qiyama; his stepchildren, Christopher Swillie, Deborah Thompson (Hugh) of Radcliff, Dieresha Smith, Cedgerae Smith (Kimberly), Lance Williams, Avery Donald, Anthony Donald (Mya) and Octavia Johnson; his mother-in-law Lula Mae Johnson; his siblings, Joyce Candley, Janice Culp, Laura Meeks, Shelia Candley-McGhee, Valerie Candley-Lumsey, Sonya Smith, Dennis Meeks, Avery Meeks, Kelvin Candley, Steven Candley, Kenneth Candley and Willie Candley; his siblings-in-law, Henry Johnson, Antonio Smith, Consandra Johnson and Regina Cunningham; his extended family Buford Robinson (Gail); and his close friends, Bobbie Betters, Romeo Carson, Janice Meeks and Willie Washington. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sims Mortuary (105 Christian Dr, El Dorado, AR 71730). A wake will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
