He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Bo and Bobbie Lee Rainey; his siblings, John Culp, S. J. Culp, Timothy Culp, Eddie Rainey, Dr. Paul Rainey, Sammy Rainey and Ethel Palmer; and his grandchildren, Eric and Mona Cain.
He is survived by: his wife Magdalene Shears; his children, Robert Rainey of Detroit, Nathan Rainey of El Dorado, Elnora Rainey Harris of El Dorado, Mary Jean Rainey-Johnson (Eddie James) of El Dorado and Latanya Rainey-Brown of Chicago; his sister Francis Gray of California; and his daughters, Laura Nell Ritchie Johnson, Loretta Whatley (Tommy Lee), Toni B. Perry (David) and Phoebe Harris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
