He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Mattox and Estion Mattox; and his son Mark Mattox. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Mattox; his daughter Maurie Wheatley (Eric) of Ocala, FL; his sister Gail Albritton of El Dorado, AR; his grandsons, Evan Wheatley (Margaret) of Camden, AR, Easton Wheatley of Camden, AR and Jake Mattox of El Dorado, AR; and his great grandchildren, Iris and Wyatt Wheatley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Smyrna Cemetery.
