He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome Chaney and Pharfina Ford; and his son Lonnie Chaney, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Sherlean Chaney; and his children, Steve, Ken, Michael Chaney, Ashley (Brandon), Shemekia and Jennifer (Marus). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
