He is survived by: his wife Patsy Holmes; his daughters, Carolyn Davis (Cliff), Deborah Holmes and Sandrea Talley; his siblings, David Holmes Sr. (Blue), Kenneth Wayne Holmes (Kent), Larry Glenn Holmes, Pearlene Turner (Robert), Clara Mae Holmes and Jackie Faye Hurey (Curt); and his grandchildren, Shameka Holmes, Brandy Manning (Bo), Tiffany Roberson (Jonte), Terea Henry, Michael Gray (RiQuita), Kristopher Gray (Shonda), Troy Henry, Shardai Talley (Red), Samya Talley (Rebecca), Kiyah Talley (Tijuana), Tiana Secyone Brown, Torella Brown (Amire) and Aniyha Talley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
