He was predeceased by : his parents, Homer Burkett and Ester Burkett; and his siblings, Erma Geane Weaver, Lois Phillips, Joan Marion Burkett, Johnnie Lee Burkett, Kenneth Burkett, Franklin Dee Burkett and Melvin Burkett.
He is survived by : his wife Brenda Kaye Burkett; and his children, Markcus Wayne Burkett, Jr. (Dot) of Dunnegan, Tammy Retford (Ken) of Pennsylvania and Chad Allen Burkett (Dedra). He is also survived by four children and one daughter-in-law.
