She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Ashburn and Lottie Mae Ellenburg; her husband EJ Istre; and her siblings, Ollie Ruth Dye and Shelby Ashburn.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Ashley (Donna), Shannon Smith (Connie) and Sonya Clark (Shannon); her sister Joyce Williams (Lamar); and her grandchildren, Heather, Blake Ashley, Stoney Sean (LaDarius), Mercedes Smith, Meghan Cook (Edward), Kaidan Clark (Caitlyn) and Zaedic Peterson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
