He was predeceased by : his former life partner Janice Irene Shores Higginbotham. He is survived by : his wife Donna Dee Flowers Higginbotham; and his children, Susan Powell, Stacy Walker, Tracy Wheeler and Jon Higginbotham. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In 2019, the Washington Regional Medical Foundation honored Dr. Higginbotham with the Eagle Award for his contributions to improving healthcare in Northwest Arkansas.
