He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmer Stapleton and Velma Stapleton; and his sisters, Vivian McAfee and Wanda Brown. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Stapleton; his daughters, Stephanie Stapleton Schouten, Emaline Stapleton and April Hackelton; and his siblings, Iline Jones and Harley Stapleton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at 1000 S Lt Col Leroy Pond Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72701.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville VA Medical Center for the Palliative Care Unit c/o Volunteer Services.
