He was predeceased by: his siblings, Betty Smith, Mary Ives and John Walker; and his grandson Eli Victor Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn of Fayetteville; his children, Stanley Mathis (Jeana) of Elkins, Arkansas and Rachael Pitman (Luke) of Dayton, Ohio; his stepson Shawn Sutton of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his siblings, Russell Mathis (Deborah) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Rebecca Ginger (Darrell) of Fayetteville, Arkansas.; and his grandchildren, Faith, Jasper, Mary Mathis, Rowan, Evelynn and Judah Pitman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Victor's memory to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas.
