He was predeceased by : his parents, Marvis May and Bertie May; his son David; his wife Akiko; and his brother Roger.

He is survived by : his family, Judy and David; his daughters, Judy Bingham (Eric) of Whidbey Island, WA and Kay Spurlock (David Rodriguez) of Kingsland; his grandchildren, Erianne (Michael), Aaron (Jessica), Kyle (Amy) and Alaina; his great grandchildren, Emily, Benjamin, Soren, Ella and Thorsten; and his siblings, John May and Nancy Sisk.
