He is survived by: his wife Joyce Johnson Thornton; his son Robert DeHaan Thornton (Mindy) of Sheridan; his grandson Harper Thornton (Hannah); his sister Ruby Vance of West Monroe, Louisiana; and his sister-in-law Fonda Bell of Bentonville. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews.
