With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rosie Mae Cooper Smith of Fordyce, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 2, 2026 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mathew Cooper and Lela Mae Pumphrey Cooper; her husband Richard; her children, Richard Smith, Jr., James Smith, Eva Whaley and Mary Stuckey; her brother Edward Cooper; her sons-in-law, Grim Letbetter, Bobby Neal and William Stuckey; and her sister-in-law Winnie Mae Cooper.
She is survived by: her children, Kirk Smith (Yvonne) of Hot Springs, Lynn Smith of Fordyce, Ida M. Cooper Letbetter of Fordyce, Merrill Smith Farmer (William) of Little Rock and Essie Neal of Henderson, Texas; and her stepchildren, Charles Smith (Erma), Terry Matlock, Emma Woods of Las Vegas, Nevada and Daisy Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Brandon's Mortuary (329 W 3rd St, Malvern, AR 72104). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
