We are sad to announce that, on February 14, 2026, at the age of 77, Edward Merz in Fort Smith, Arkansas, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Edward shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Edward farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Merz and Thelma Merz (Gohn); his stepmother Jean Merz; his brother Harry Merz; and his daughter Joni Brackman.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Merz; his children, Mathew Merz of Broken Bow and Susan Hudson of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Abbie, Liam Brackman and Keona Merz. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
