She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Barnes and Lillian Elnora Barnes (Kirk); and her siblings, Antione Brown, Benny "Rinky" Brown, James "Jasper" Barnes, Guy Barnes, Constance "Connie" Massey, Hortense Hughley and Senobia.
She is survived by: her close friends, LaVerne Johnson, Grace Brown, Jim, Bea Lyons, Helen Kendrick, Shanika and Rachel; her children, Stephanie Mitchem of Desota, Tammie Harris of Fort Smith and Shawn Rogers (Misty) of Fort Smith; her grandchildren, Natasha, Blake, Clayton, Jabria, Ariel, John, Lydia, Kobe, Cody, Shawn and Autumn; and her sisters, Sharon Diaz, Marion Aytch (Robert) and Mary Ann Barnes. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A wake was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Lewis Funeral Chapel (4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR 72904). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Missionary Baptist Church (3110 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR 72904).
