He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Sherrell and Dana Sherrell (Trusty); his wife Nettie Sherrell; and his children, Kendall Sherrell and Carrie Sengel.
He is survived by: his daughter Carla Mattas (David) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his sister Judy McCartney (Bobby) of Ratcliff, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Hannah Williams (Brandon), Sydney Sengel of Chicago and Sawyer Sengel of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and his great grandchildren, Cohen and Carter Williams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ocker-Putman Funeral Home (4500 Jenny Lind Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72901). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the U. S. National Cemetery (522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901).
