He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Rhodes and Garland Rhodes; his wife Sarah Jeanne Savage; his son Kelly; and his siblings, J. L. Rhodes and Nancy Branstetter.
He is survived by: his caregivers, Dr. Syed, Dr. Annamalai, Dr. Mehl, Dr. Terrell, Dr. Hawthorne and Dr. Norwood; his daughter-in-law Dr. Nadine Alex; his caregivers, Madison, Trisha, Sue, Angela, Trista, Kathy, Suk and Thor; his friends, Richard and Sarah; his niece Stepanie (Doug Grimm); and his children, Sam (Stephanie Grimm), Tim and Beth.
