He was predeceased by: his parents, N. M. "Pete" Slocum and Nettie Lee Griffin Slocum; his son Bruce Vail; his sisters, Peggy Hall and Nanci Chalk; and his nephew Wayne Savage of Hamburg.
He is survived by: his wife Chyrl Savage Slocum of Fountain Hill; his daughter Gena Vail; and his sisters, Shirley Erwin of Ladson, Wanda Sue Fletcher of Crossett and Connie Rhea Bentele of White Hall.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Fountain Hill Christian Church (100 Mulberry St, Fountain Hill, AR 71642). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the Flat Creek Cemetery (239 Ashley 92, Fountain Hill, AR 71642).
