He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Mitchell and Blanche Parker Mitchell; his wife Elise Coffman Mitchell; and his siblings, Harold Epperson, Kenneth Epperson, Ernest Epperson, Charlene Barnett, Bobby Haggard, Ray Mitchell and Faye Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Mitchell of Glenwood, Mickey, Jerrie Mitchell of Umpire, Justin and Sherrie Mitchell of Bauxite; and his grandchildren, Jon, Jada, Hayes, Brooke, Chase, Caleigh, James, Morgan and Lauren Grace. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren; and his many loving nieces, nephews, extended family.
