He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Joshua Shields and Alta Jane Shields (Black); his wife Helen Jo Shields; and his brothers, Jewel Shields and Jasper Shields.
He is survived by: his children, Dwight Shields (Sharon) of Vilonia, Robert Shields (Linda) of Benton and Doris Hastey (Ken) of Mena; his brother Ben Shields (Fay) of Mount Ida; his grandchildren, Shawn Shields (Stephanie) of Greenbrier, Katrinka Shields of Maumelle, Emily Williamson (Adrian) of Little Rock, Parker Shields of Kansas City, Kalen Hastey (Heather) of Prairie Grove and Brooke Robbins (Matt) of Mena; and his great grandchildren, Preston Shields, Norah Shields and Nolan Hastey.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home - Glenwood (209 N 3rd St, Glenwood, AR 71943). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
