He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Alvin and Thelma Pearl Mitchael; his wife Ruth Darlene Gathman; his siblings, Carl Dean Mitchael, Carol Jean Mitchael and Vernon Dale Mitchael; and his granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Thurman.
He is survived by: his brother Larry Mitchael; his children, Jan (Clayton Thurman), Steve (Jill Mitchael) and Jay (Jennifer Mitchael); and his grandchildren, Randy (Janna Thurman), Lauren (Jason Buss), Jake (Betsy Mitchael), Ava Mitchael (Coleman Eldridge), Joshua (Andrea Mitchael) and Jayni (Braden Chaufty).
