He was predeceased by: his parents, Merten G. Songer and Virginia Songer; his brother G. Songer Jr. (Sonny); and his grandson Heath Akins. He is survived by: his wife Schuler Songer; and his children, Mark (Liz), Dirk (Adia), Deborah Akins (Rob) and Erik. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
