He was predeceased by: his mother Sybil Ward Turney; his wife Myra Lee Hobgood; his brothers, Glen and Gene Turney; his nephew Alan Dale Turney; and his close friend Kate Pumpheres.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, Charlcie Annabell Judkins of Jonesboro, Mary Elizabeth Carlton of Hot Springs and Terry Turney of Higden; his great-nephews, Matt Turney of Heber Springs, Chris Summerhill (Yvonne) of Knoxville, TN, Michael Turney of Little Rock and Conrad Carlton (Meg) of Little Rock; and his nieces, Kenna Gale Lee (Tim) of Springdale, Carissah Tarkington (Micheal) of West Memphis and Alexandria Turney of Maumelle. He is also survived by five great- grand nephews and three great-grand nieces.
