He is survived by: his wife Janie Mitchell; his children, Jimmy Mitchell of Jonesboro, April Forkum (Nicholas) of Jonesboro and Kimberly Lopez (Antonio) of Houston, Texas; his sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Linda Ford, Bettye Hutchinson and Marsha Lewellyn; his grandchildren, Cody, Mallory, Tony, Emma, Chris, Molly and Kaylin; his niece Dana Davis of Grubbs; and his sisters-in-law, Diane Bradford, Sandy Vines and Tracy Emery. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
