He is survived by: his wife Tammie; his children, Joseph Mode Jr. (Kristen), Colleen Thompson (Nathan) and Harley Mode; his grandchildren, Jennah Mode, Kamryn Mode, Joseph Gilby, Brynnleigh Gilby, Ember Thompson and Ames Thompson; and his siblings, Calvin Mode (Brenda) and Melody Simmonson (Ron). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
