He was predeceased by : his parents, Adrian C. McDonald and Virdell Rose Higginbotham McDonald; and his siblings, Phillip McDonald, Jimmy McDonald, Garvin McDonald, Dorothy McDonald, Joyce McDonald, Ida Jean Carpenter and Linda Barnett.

He is survived by : his son Jimmy McDonald of Hamburg; his brother Billy McDonald (Gursta) of Hamburg; and his granddaughter Jordyn McDonald. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
