He was predeceased by : his parents, John Cope and Leona Burnett Cope; and his sister Margaret Fleming. He is survived by : his wife Clara Emogene Cope; his sons, Allen Cope and Lavon Cope (Felicia); his stepdaughter Karen Brunson (Johnnie) of Hamburg; and his sisters, Bonnie Farmer (Glen) of Crossett and Lynda Perdue of Beebe, AR. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
