He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Haerter and Elisabeth Spielmann Haerter; and his sister Hannelore Haerter. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Haerter of Harrison; his children, Sandra Schwarz (Don) of Chicago, Louis Freeman (Angela) of South Elgin and Kurt Freeman (Rana) of Huntington Beach, California; and his sister Ingrid Kipper (Hank) of Crystal Lake, Illinois. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
