He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Ransey and Lela Elitha Anderson Methvin; his son Gary; his daughter-in-law Danette Methvin; his siblings, Rufus Methvin, Ralph Cotton Methvin, Joyce Markle, Nita VanZant, Cwilla Shahan and Norma Jean Methvin; and his son-in-law Billy Keeter.

He is survived by: his wife Jo Ella Methvin of Eros; his son Ransey; his daughter-in-law Patty Methvin of Harrison; his daughters, Judy (Steve Hobbs) and Debra Keeter of Cotter; and his grandchildren, Dustin Keeter, Alisha Benedict, Andrea Benedict, Amanda Schroder, Bryan Methvin, Shawna Hobson, Aaron Methvin, Cody Methvin and Brylee Methvin. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends.
