He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Bussard and Flavilla Bussard; his former wife Florence Christine Arnold Bussard; his grandson Logan Bussard; his brother Bill Bussard (Donna); and his sister-in-law Kathy Bussard.

He is survived by: his wife Nadine; his sons, Monte Bussard (Luisa), Brian Bussard (Kenna) and Aaron Bussard (Diane); his stepchildren, Lisa Ellington (Dennis), Pam Morgan and David Brandon (Christi); and his siblings, Rex Bussard, Mike Bussard (Judy) and Linda Bowers (Mike). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Paragould Children's Home.
